Madden 10 (RANT)

Wow, this game has really regressed!

I was on the fence about buying this game after being disappointed in the last two maddens but the demo was good and my friend offered to split the cost with me. Then along comes a sweet $39 no tax deal I couldn't refuse. So for less than $20 bucks I get Madden 10!

I play superstar mode and it's gone BACKWARDS. Gone are the NFL combine and interview questions. Ingame commentary is STILL not added. There is no more leadership bonuses. I can't choose my agent like I did before. I still have no idea how my guy progresses as there are no more mini-games for me to train on. Superstar mode is quite literally bare bones mode.

But wait! They did add one new feature called SUPER SUPERSTAR. It's a special download that will enable my superstar to get maximum progression. All I have to do is pay them .99!!! Wait, didn't I pay you $39 already for last year's game but with less features? WTF?!?!

I am done with this franchise. Gonna give it a few more days then probably sell it to Gamestop. I bet they will give me $40 for it. Suckers.

Is the game you have for PC or console? I was thinking about picking it up but now I'm not so sure...

I have the Wii version and I think that the 5X5 mode is pretty fun.

IMO Madden 06 was probably the best one. It was the last edition for the first generation systems (Xbox/Ps2). In that game you had control of your coaching staff, stadium renovations, etc. and the gameplay was smooth. I think they took a big step back when they engineered the games for 360/Ps3 and focused way too much on just graphics...

Madden 04 was probably my favorite. Or I played it the most at least. The defensive improvements in 05 were great but I definitely didn't play it as much as 04. I think 10 is really great though. Easily the best of the next-gen games IMO.

Just upgraded my video card, RAM, processor, mobo...it looks better than ever.

On about the 7th or 8th season of a Redskins dynasty/franchise.


When I get sick of it (if I ever do), I'll get the 2008 version (last PC one I believe) and download new rosters.

I sold back my copy of '10, and unless something drastic changes my mind, I might be taking the year off from all non-FIFA games from EA - I'm sure I'll go back on this at some point, but I have been so bored with their stagnant updates and two-steps-backward-for-each-baby-step-forward approach in recent years (arguably for like the last 7-8 years, I guess)...
