im in a 12 team h2h KEEPER (don't know the number of keepers yet, but still in contention so i can't mess my team too too much)... standard yahoo 5x5 categories...

im in 2nd place right now 15GB but locked into the playoffs already...

so browsing over the FAs ive been looking at, any roster worthy for the playoff run? and if so who to drop?

also im trying some trades to better my keepers for next year, but not strip my team what do you think any you would do to win this year and help for next year?...

I Give: Abreu/Aubrey Huff/Ben Zobrist/Aardsma/Nathan---I Get: Longoria/Sizemore (thought behind this, both i get would be very much welcomed as keepers, and the 1st place team im actually playing this week and has STOMPED everybody each week in saves, so saves really won't help me)

I Give: Abreu/Zobrist/Scherzer/Nathan and or Aardsma---I Get: Holliday/Wainwright (again saves i may as well get value for now because i won't keep either closer and the saves won't help me in the playoffs)

If Miguel Montero is available i would upgrade over Kurt Suzuki

I like Coghlan Flexibility and would drop Furcal or Drew for him, since you have 4 eligible players at SS. (more likely Furcal, since Drew still has some keeper potential)

Also may look at dropping Huff for either Borbon or Blanks, Borbon is more of a prospect stud, but may be some time before he is fulltime in Texas loaded outfield, but Blanks is pretty much a lock as a starter the rest of this season and next season.


Pitching wise I like Holland, but see don't anyone droppable and I know you will have a issue when Tim Hudson comes off the DL.

I would do that first trade for Longoria/Sizemore. You don't need starting pitching but adding those two hitters would help you. Especially in a keeper league, I would hold onto both Grady and Longoria. If you want grab Holland and drop one of your bench hitters...probably Escobar.
