Looking to try some creative rules for a new league

I was thinking of starting a league with some creative rules.

Auction or Draft, I could do either one.

Here is the basic creativity I'd be interested in trying:

(1) 15 team league w/3 5-team divisions (playoff structure up for discussion)
(2) 10 categories only 9 of which count (each week one team will be designated the home team; they get to choose, prior to the beginning of the week, one category to not count. This would continue into the playoffs, when a higher seed would get that advantage). Anyone up or helping flesh this idea out?
