Marmol Now The Closer

Carlos Marmol is reportedly the new closer in Chicago.

Marmol alluded to this position change to the Chicago media. He walks way too many batters, but when he gets the ball over the plate, he is unhittable. For the Cubs to make the playoffs, they need a shutdown closer and Marmol is the best option.

not quite sure that what happen... Guzman tho tonight in kind of a trial game (cubs were only down 1 run when he came into the game in the 8th) gave up 2ER with 1H and 2K and 2BB, he has been really solid all year at least with a 2.42 ERA coming into tonight with a 39:15 K:BB ratio. but after tonight's appearance his ERA jump 30 points to 2.72 with a 41:17 K:BB ratio... i think if he has a couple productive outings in a row tho they will definitely give him a shot, heck not like Marmol has been lock down (3.51 ERA with a 67:52 K:BB ratio, also has given up 31 hits so far in 56.1IP compared to last years 40 total in 87.1IP)...

it will be interesting to see...but at this point im glad to see anything but Gregg in the role...
