I've got Rivera as a Closer and my league counts Holds as well. Just yesterday you guys helped me decide to drop F-Rod for Riske (thanks!), and keep Gordon as a nice safety net for Rivera. As I read these "Holders" posts it seems like Quantrill could be the man in NY?
so, Gordon or Quantrill?

both of them should be good for holds. a setup pitcher can record a hold in several different innings so it's possible that both could be used together in the same games and each get a hold. i'd go with the one with lower ratios and a higher K/IP rate. quantrill is a proven holds guy, while gordon had a few implosions as a reliever near the end of last season.

sweet. 4 for 4.
still worried about Wake!
on baseball front, I like your input on the Gordon/Quan subject. Since I have Gordon I'm tempted to stick with him for now. The way I see it is if I add Quant I'm just gonna draw attention to him and Gordon since they'll be on the transactions page for a few days. I think if I just let Quant sit there on Waivers I can grab him if he puts up great #'s early on. Make any sense? Anyone else gonna argue I should drop Gordon right now for him?

gordon does probably have a slight edge with K potential. re: quantrill, i wouldn't let him sit too long and assume he won't go unnoticed. it's hard for yankees to go unnoticed, unless they're named enrique wilson

good point.... although Bernie went undrafted! I wouldn't draft him with all those injury concerns but I figured some guy in a 10 team league would have...

I've been thinking that a real sleeper in holds might be either Heredia or White on the Yanks. While neither is as good as Quantrill or Gordon, imo, the Yanks have 5 RH starters. So, the usual match-up will be a lefty out of the pen in a tight situation to relieve a RH starter facing a tough lefty hitter. Gordon or Quantrill will then follow the lefty, if a righthander comes up.
Something to think about.
