KEEPERS WHIR always!

Postby yoshi99 » Sun Aug 16, 2009 7:59 am

I have just found out that my yahoo roto keeper league may be allowing only 5 rather than the 6 I thought before, PLEASE help!
my league counts R/HR/RBI/OBP/K/SB and W/L/ERA/SV/WHIP/K
my 5 keepers at the moment are:
1B- Joey Votto
3B- Miguel Cabrera (loses 3B eligibility next season)
OF- Grady Sizemore, Matt Kemp, BJ Upton
borderline: Brandon Phillips, Gordon Beckham
The problem is I was planning on 6 keepers, and therefore would have kept Brandon Phillips because 2nd base has been such a pain in the ass, this year I've run with Dan Uggla most of the year, NEVER AGAIN
Do I switch Brandon Phillips for BJ Upton because of shallowness of 2nd base? My other problem is that I drafted BJ Upton in the 2nd round this year and it would hurt to take the risk letting someone else draft him next year. I know Upton may never turn out to be the power hitter I had hoped for coming into the season, but I absolutely feel he'll rebound with a solid season next year, best case 20 HRs 40-50 SBs.

I would pass on Phillips and keep Upton's potential.

It is very borderline because locking up 2B is key, but I agree with the previous poster since Upton has the potential to be more valuable.
