Longoria Blockbuster (WHIR)

Do this deal?

Give: Longoria, Jeter, Duke
Get: Holliday, Michael Young, Wainwright, Papelbon

pros -- I get guys to help me NOW ... a stud OF, a comparable SS, an ace, and a stud closer
cons -- I can keep Longoria for 2 more years, whereas the other keepers are for one more year. But good players come in the draft each year, and keeping Holliday would mean one great OF carryover to go with my stud aces and infielders.

My keepers right now are: Pujols, Utley, A-Rod, Longoria, Sabathia and Halladay

stat categories: R, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG -- IP, W, L, CG, ER, ERA, K, SV, WHIP

My Team:

C M.Wieters
1B A.Pujols
2B C.Utley
SS D.Jeter
3B A-Rod
OF J.Damon
OF N.McLouth
OF J.Werth
UT E.Longoria
UT N.Morgan
UT B.Butler
B Griffey, K.Suzuki, Fowler

SP Sabathia, Halladay, Greinke, Billingsley, Oswalt, Blanton, Duke, (and Holland temporarily)
RP Broxton, Street

I'd rather keep Longoria for another few seasons. But if you really want those guys, and feel that they will put you over the top for the championship, do it. Only you can make that call though.

I agree Holliday is a stud OF but from the guys you are using it seems they've had great years. I'd be hesitant to give up Longoria to replace guys having career years. I didn't think Damon nor Huston Street would be this good either but they've done pretty well for those who have owned them so far. Those are the type guys you'd be paying with Longoria to replace. I'd have a hard time doing that. When you give a keeper like Longoria you need to make sure it gives you a significantly upgraded shot at winning a title, and I'm not certain this does enough for you.

if money is involved in your league this year, then i think it's a good deal for you. however, if it's just bragging rights, i might hang onto longoria as a keeper. if you trade longoria, what about trading him to the guy who has reynolds, if he has other guys you want. reynolds could be a nice keeper. it just depends on how you feel about losing longoria as a keeper. tough pill to swallow with your other solid keepers.

I totally agree with woowoo crew. You're going to be able to get Reynolds for a lower price and he's sweet. Money involved this year, take this deal...No money, go for Reynolds.
