Is V-Mart a Bona-fide Keeper? WHIR, you know I will

Postby sweettortilla » Thu Aug 13, 2009 8:03 pm

My trade deadline is approaching (Aug 21) and I am considering what moves I can make to upgrade my keepers.

This is 10 team, H2H league. We get five keepers (plus a minors keeper).

Question #1: Since I have M. Cabrera at 1B, do I try to move Ryan Howard for a 2B, 3B or OF option? If I don't, I am stuck using Howard as DH next year.

Question #2
: Is VMart keeper worthy? I don't have a clear-cut 5th keeper. Lee has been productive in the second half, so I'd consider him but he's old. Werth is too streaky, he's getting up there. Catcher is a weak position, and VMart is one of the top two options. Do I just lock that up for next year too? Or do you just never hang onto a C as a keeper?

TIA + WHIR!

At catcher position yes he is a keeper. Specially now he is in Boston. Good keepers you have. I would keep howard also and DH him.

was thinking this the whole time i was reading the post... deal Howard and Phillips for Utley and an Arm... then keep...

Miggy
Utley
Braun
Vmart
Tulo

or depending on what pitcher you get in return i would think about sending that arm along with Tulo for either an upgraded SS or upgraded SP and keep whoever you get in return...

Thanks for the great responses, everyone. Now, I've got a deal on the table for my Howard for his Lincecum and A-Rod. I can't believe he's offering it. Am I missing something obvious here??

Option 2: Vmart is worth keeping because catcher is so scarce, he is worth keeping for certain.

option 1: it depends on the 2nd, 3rd, or ss you could get for Howard. Keeping him at Utility isn't a bad option it works quite well especially if one of those guys gets hurt at any time and one can be protection while still getting you stats. But if you could get a really good 2nd, 3rd or ss, then it could be worth it.

Can you help with mine: viewtopic.php?t=396020
