Is Mark Reynolds Keeper Worthy? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Thu Aug 13, 2009 6:28 pm

I am seriously considering moving Longoria to get some pitching help (probably a Wainwright) and I think I could get Reynolds back. Is he a guy that is for real? Or is this just a career year that will be followed by a .235 24 hr campaign next year?

Any experts out there on Reynolds who would care to project him out for the future?

I think the batting average might come down, but the power and speed are definitely for real.

The best benchmark is probably Adam Dunn. Dunn strikes out a lot, but is still a very productive fantasy player. Giving up Longoria, in a keeper league is tough, but I do think Reynolds will continue to produce.

Can you help with mine plz - viewtopic.php?t=396004

i think reynolds is the one to move for "a wainwright." if you move longoria you have to (in my humble opinion) aim for lincy (or at least a young top tier arm)

Edit: i apologize. i think dunn is a good comparison to Dunn. Reynolds has been known has a big swinger with low average and so has dunn, but both have exceeded expectations in the Avg dept this year. I still think that if you do move Longoria, i'd aim a little higher than Wainwright (maybe i'm just not a big fan of him)

sorrry for confusion

Just to clarify, I DO NOT own Reynolds, but I am looking for a good bat and pitching help and I could move Longoria for either:

Holliday and Wainwright
or
Reynolds and Wainwright

wondering which is worth it more?

BUMP

he said he could give me Reynolds, Wainwright and Franklin for Longoria.

not a sexy trade (Holliday is a better keeper than Reynolds I think). but anyone like it? Do I try to get him to give me Reynolds and Felix?

Thanks for the clarification. The missing piece is how many keepers do you get?
In any case, Reynolds is still unknown, but man, what a year. Wainwright - nice SP. Would you get to keep them both, and if so, would Wainwright fit into those plans?

I think Holliday is a more reliable solution based on history, but man, if Reynolds can do this again next year...maybe the risk is worth it?

Help with mine?

Just saw your update. Yes. Get Felix if you can. He's a much better option - he's long term baby. I live in Seattle and get to watch his magic up close and personal.

Sorry, I have posted my roster below. We can keep 6 ... the reason Longoria is interesting is that he does not go back into the draft until the end of the 2011 season, whereas my other guys go back at the end of the 2010 season. Reynolds, like Longoria, would also not go back until after the 2011 season.

My projected 6 keepers right now: Pujols, Utley, A-Rod, Longoria, Sabathia, Halladay

stat categories: R, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG -- IP, W, L, CG, ER, ERA, K, SV, WHIP

My Team:

C M.Wieters
1B A.Pujols
2B C.Utley
SS D.Jeter
3B A-Rod
OF J.Damon
OF N.McLouth
OF J.Werth
UT E.Longoria
UT N.Morgan
UT B.Butler
B Griffey, K.Suzuki

SP Sabathia, Halladay, Greinke, Billingsley, Oswalt, Blanton, Duke, (and Masterson and Holland temporarily)
RP Broxton, Street
