...has died today at the age 94. If you've ever been a musician or been around musicians you know the impact Les had on the guitar world and the music world in general.
Since he spelled it Jimmy I'm guessing Jimmy Page...but he may have, most likely, meant Jimi Hendrix.
No nevermind. Jimmy Page played a les paul. hendrix played a start. I'm just so use to people saying Jimi.
So one of them is correct.
I am a bigger fan of Jimi but I want a Les Paul super bad!
Jimi mostly played Fender Strats but he did own and play a black Les Paul, as well as other guitar models. He is most identified with the Stratocasters though since that's what he played a majority of the time.
So if you wanna play the guitar Jimmy played, it's a Les Paul.
If you wanna play the guitar jimi played, it's a Stratocaster.

I heard someone say that Jimi played a start. Haven't heard of those before.
