win this year?

Postby Yoda » Wed Aug 12, 2009 9:48 am

5x5, 12 team, keeper league (keep 4 plus 1 rook). I am trying to win it this year and I have an offer on the table:
I give up Beltran (DL), LaRoche
I get Pena, Nick Johnson

My current team:
C McCann
1B Fielder
2B Prado
3B Zimmerman
SS Rollins
CI G.Jones
MI Lugo
OF Choo
OF Blanks
OF Scott
OF Podsednik
OF R.Davis
U LaRoche
DL Beltran
DL J.Upton
DL Kinsler

SP Nolasco
SP Vazquez
SP Felix
SP Sabathia
RP Nathan
RP Bailey
P Howell
P Frasor
B B.Anderson
B De La Rosa
B Buchholz
B Tillman

I probably would not keep Betran anyway and Pena would be an upgrade over LaRoche.

I'd make that deal. Beltran is a fringe keeper for you anyway so if you can get something for him that could help you win this year I'd go ahead.

Yeah, I say go for it. Beltran is more than likely done and looking at your team, I don't know that he'd be in my top 4 for keepers. Injuries are killing you right now, damn...as an Upton, Bedard and Cruz owner, I feel your pain.

So its essentially LaRoche for Pena and Johnson since Beltran isn't really a factor this year anymore. I would make that trade. Like everyone has been saying, Beltran wouldn't be a keeper for you anyway and you're obviously not getting any production out of him right now.

Help if you have a moment? viewtopic.php?t=395893

Always go for the win this year if you have a shot. Since Beltran wouldn't be a must keep for you anyways, I would do this deal easily.

Thank you guys for your help. I just pulled the trigger. Hopefully LaRoche doesn't catch fire and Beltran doesn't return this year.
