Deal Morneau for Halladay? please help me!! WHIR

Postby rib217 » Tue Aug 11, 2009 2:46 pm

I am unsure if I can take the hit of losing Morneau, i'm also not being able to generate much interest in Adrian Gonzalez, that being said I probably could use the pitching help for the run on the title. Should i do this deal?

I give: Morneau
I get: Halladay; Kubel

Is Kubel a starter? is he going to get everyday time from here on out?

12 team roto non keeper 7x7 R Hr Rbi Sb K Avg Obp W L Sv K Era Whip Qs
C- Pablo
1b- Morneau
2b- Hudson
3b- Miggy
ss- Jeter
Of- Lee; Reimold; Rajai Davis
Ut- Adrian; Uggla
Bn: Cantu
Dl: Beltran

SP: Carpenter; Gallardo; Shields; Bucholz; Bergeson DL
RP: Hoffman; Nunez; Jenks; Johnson; Downs DL

What do i do? Good enough deal to give up Morneau? I guess I'd just drop Bergeson in the deal yes?

It just depends on your needs. I prefer Morneau's overall value on the market but if you need pitching down the stretch and can weather the loss of Morneau then you have to do it. Its certainly a fair trade. In a keeper I dont do it.

haha that made me chuckle.. :-b :-D

anyways i would say yes do this deal, simply because your rotation is lookin pretty shabby... adding Halladay will be a big boost, he instantly becomes your Ace and you then have a legit 4 arm rotation, rather then 3 and BuchHolz... added to the fact that you lose Morneau but can swoop in and land AGon at your starting 1b and then use Kubel's stats in your OF and at UTIL and your looking pretty damn good...

do the deal...

Great thanks to soto for the sweet sig!...

Try giving good advice if you ever want me to return the favor

If you can whether the loss of Morneau then do it? if you need pitching then do it.

Thats the point of the question, you analyze my team and give me your advice, not to rephrase my question in the form of an answer. thanks for nothing, your post was worthless

I'd make the deal. halladay and morneau are both top 20 players, and you need to replace reimold in the OF anyway. kubel allows you to do that. plus you need a complement to carpenter in your rotation with gallardo and shields being very erratic.

And yes drop bergesen.

I think you do.

Gonzalez could slide to 1b, and Kubel, depending on the matchups, replaces Davis.

When you need to fill the "Utility' slot, it's always the easiest to fill.

It does depend where you stand in certain categories more than what your talent is at this point in the year. That is what information is needed to answer the question.

I always split the season into 4 parts: (Qtr 1) Focus solely on Total numbers (2) Focus on total numbers, look at positions needed (3) Positions needed and categories needed (4) MOSTLY categories needed.

What I mean by that is, coming down the homestretch, I would deal an Albert Pujols for Michael Bourn (ok, I'd get a lot thrown in) if the only offensive categories I could move was SB.

Help with mine:
