Make it 9-for-9. Getting Tulowitzki on the side for a bargain is the big clincher with an eye on next year's keepers. Suffice it to say, getting Halladay helps out your pitching in a big way down the stretch and you're still getting a quality bat in Howard for the same price as Hanley.

OK so actually Tulo will not be $5, his deal expires and he'll be in the $20 range, but it just means I keep the $5 bubble guy of Beckham and McCutchen. No big deal, since the trade is 100% about winning in 2009.
Giving it another hour or so before triggers are pulled.

I would do this trade in a heartbeat...you are getting fantastic value for Hanley this year and some cheap keepers going forward.

Go for it. Depending on inflation it might even help you NEXT year...it all depends on how much value you can get out of the $20 you're saving at shortstop because while Tulo isn't Hanley he does have a good chance to give you more value on that $5 than Hanley will on his $25.

Ok, reading this I'd still do it because it does give you a better shot this year but you are giving up future value.
