Return to Draft, Trade, Keeper and Waivers Questions

With Berkman on the shelf, I am relegated to playing Cantu at 1b. He's been horrible for most of this year which was disappointing given his 29 HR in 2008. I was hoping he would come around.
This is a 12 team H2H keeper league with a prospect system where we keep 8 ML players and can carry over 3 prospect call-ups. I've got a solid young core, but my 1b needs some help while Berkman is out. On the waiver wire...I can pick up one of Guillen or Murphy to replace Cantu, but it really doesn't look like a big upgrade. I have pondered the idea of trying to package Berkman and Soriano for a big time, younger 1B.
Another idea I had was trading for BJ Upton. His owner is not pleased with him and may part with him. Is Soriano too much to give up for Upton straight up? I sure could use the speed. Otherwise...any thoughts on how I could improve my team? Its listed below with my likely keepers. Keep in mind my team is struggling this year and will not compete for the league title barring a huge run to end the season. I have several keeper quality players that will have to be thrown back most likely so maybe I should package a few together to upgrade. Any thoughts are appreciated.

if youre playing just for 2010, i woudl keep soriano and deal berkman and either nolaco or wainwright for a good keeper. in fact, how about moving wainwright and nolasco for a stud? there are plenty of combinations that would be good, i just think your trade partners would value wainwright very very highly in a trade so you might as well capitalize. thx for help w mine.

Try moving Berkman and another piece (a non-keeper but a player that can help the person you are trading with) for Howard, Fielder, or Morneau. Try acquiring one of these beasts for next year!
What do you think of this deal?!

agreed, IMO Morneau is the one most likely to be had

Agree with the above posts. Are you playing for 2010 or 2009? You can't go both ways. Try to get a bat that is a must-protect and sell off parts right now and go with Cantu OR deal for multiple parts, using your best protections.
Thanks for the help on mine.

I like the moving Berkman and another piece for better 1B also. Wainwright and Nolascco are both strong pitchers. Wainwright I feel is arguably as good as other pitchers being kept. Lots there that you can pull together for a Morneau or more.
I'm on the clock. Lend me your voice/opinion

I agree with the others. Do you have faith in Reynolds? The safest bet would be Morneau because of his consistency, but Prince Fielder is younger with more power.
