I like Verlander alot, but I think Mauer is more valuable in a keeper. Plus, Verlander has had a few shaky starts in a row now, so there's no guarantee he'll help your ratios. Still, Verlander is a very significant addition, especially considering your IP situation. I guess it really depends on how much stock you want to put into this season. If you want to go "all in" then do the deal, and while it sucks to lose Mauer, I think you'll be in better shape to make the push for 1st place.

I'd stand pat. Your pitching looks good enough and $16 for Mauer next year is a bargain.

i think keeping Mauer is the right ting to do. He has finally produced power this year.
