Pick Six Keepers WHIR

Postby briane » Sun Aug 09, 2009 8:48 am

$260 cap
8 team AL Only
If there are seven that you can not decide between, let me know. The decision has to be made at next year's draft, so I am just looking to amass good options.

Kendry Morales (6)
Asdrubal Cabrera (6)
Russell Branyan (6)
Marco Scutaro (6)
Aaron Hill (6)
Shin-Soo Choo (13)
Matt LaPorta (6)
Zach Greinke (13)
Jim Johnson (6)
Andrew Bailey (6)
Brandon Inge (6) - only at 3b
John Lackey (15)
Brett Cecil (6)
Juston Masterson (6)
Jered Weaver (11)

We can keep 3, but I want to have some leeway in case guys get hurt, traded to the NL, or we have an expansion team or two. So, top six (and seven or eight if you can't make up your mind). Please pay attention to the prices, as it makes a difference. Lackey is better than Cecil, for example, but is he at 15 better than Cecil at 6?

Agree - Masterson is one I'd wait on though to see how he performs as an SP in Cleveland over the next few months. As a replacement I think I'd go with Branyan, only b/c of his relatively inexpensive price tag.

Help with mine:

I defiantly agree with the others.

Keep an eye on Laporta.

Any dissenting opinions? If this is the case, I have to pull the trigger on a trade I have lined up.

I think the five are easy to pick.... The last one is debatable and I would not lock in on Masterson now. I even like Choo for a little more.

Thanks for your post.
