for the season definately Blanks, when Giles comes off the DL Venables playing time will decrease and the Padres are higher on Blanks as a prospect

I'll second that. Blanks is a 40HR season waiting to happen if he ever learns to be patient at the plate.

Blanks is much more a stronger prospect. Venable will give way soon.
