Furcal has clearly heated up at the plate and is leading off in the potent LA lineup but can anyone provide any insight as to why he is not running? He only has SB's the whole season and I can't recall the last time he attempted an SB. The reason I am asking such a specific question is because is he is not running, he does not really have any value. Can any LA fans provide any insight? Is it the age, the bad back? Thanks buds!

i'm assuming because furcal had a back surgery last year, they are taking it easy on him. i mean the guy could barely get a hit for the most part of this season, asking him to then steal bases may be too much.

Regardless of the beginning of the year.... he's batting a respectable .270 now and leading off. Attempting a few SB's here and there too much to ask? I mean Ryan Howard is catching up to Furcal in SB's.....

it could be too much to ask for someone who had back surgery for ruptured disc. it's not like dodgers need to be greedy with their offense the way things have gone.

oh and maybe furcal's speed isn't that great anymore, he's been caught 4 times out of 10 attempts this season, although it's a small sample.

There is no need to push Furcal and risk him reinjuring his back. The Dodgers need to make sure he will be healthy for the playoffs.
