Hamels for F-Rod advice

Postby wackadoodle » Thu Aug 06, 2009 8:22 pm

NL only, ten teams, no salaries, 5x5. My Hamels (who I am a big fan of) for his F-Rod (who I am starting to wonder about). I don't need saves as bad as I did but I am still on my way to going over my IP. I have Gallardo and Kershaw to consider for keepers (we keep six) as far as pitchers. Basically I am just wondering what you guys think as far as a one for one trade with these guys without looking at the particulars.

what is your closer situation and what is the rest of your SP situation? Personally based on pure value id take Hamels over K-Rod simply because of the Mets struggles and the Phils are still in it backed with a good offense and good defense... now if you Need Saves then its not that bad of a trade to pick up a superb closer... need to see your roster for further help tho...

Great thanks to soto for the sweet sig!...

Yeah, it completely depends on what you need category wise. If you can make up gorund in saves, then it is a good deal. Hamels has not been lights out this year either, so they are pretty even IMO.

I needed save help desperately. I had a ton of offers out there with no luck then the day after i landed Wilson I got counter offered this. My starters are hamels, gallardo, kershaw, U. Jimenez, de la rosa, and Happ. I'm on my way to going over the IP limit and with only being able to keep at most two starters for next season I am considering doing this.
