My McLouth for his Cliff Lee? WHIR

Postby sigriffey » Thu Aug 06, 2009 7:24 pm

My pitching needs help, believe it or not. I think I can probably find better hitting talent on waivers than i can pitching talent. Should I make this trade? His team is 45 games back, mine 28.5 games back...

I give: Nate McLouth
I get: Cliff Lee

12 Team H2H league, with 6 Keepers -- (SO I have to choose 6 to keep for next year. All player are keeper eligible, but those with a "K" are under contract and go back into the draft after 2010, the others after 2011).

stat categories: R, 1B, 2B, 3B, HR, RBI, SB, BB, AVG -- IP, W, L, CG, ER, ERA, K, SV, WHIP

My Team:

C Wieters
1B Pujols (K)
2B Pedroia (K)
SS Jeter (K)
3B A-Rod (K)
OF Damon (K)
OF McLouth (K)
OF N.Morgan
UT Longoria
UT Votto (K)
UT Napoli
B Griffey, H.Matsui

SP Sabathia (K), Halladay (K), Billingsley, Oswalt, Kershaw, Volstad, A.Cook, Blanton
RP Broxton, Street

Your pitching looks like it should be okay but if you do want to upgrade it this deal is good.

Agreed, good deal. Cliff Lee's value has taken quite a nice bump with the move to Philly. I like McLouth ok, but his .260-ish average leaves me a little cold.

Help with mine if you can, thx

I agree. Make this trade and pick up the hot hand to fill McLouth's spot.

I have to agree with the others. It helps your team and McLouth is not a huge loss. Just try to filter in the hot bat and you should be fine. Im kinda surprised that Lee is coming this cheap. In all my leagues the owners want a king's ransom for it...

Good Luck

This is a great trade for you. Lee is the real deal and he is now on a great team in the National League (much more pitcher friendly).

Lee has been stellar in Philly, McLouth has been so-so and is easily replaced, so do this deal.

This is a steal for you, but you don't need more pitching. However if you think there are solid hitters available in the free agent pool I would still do it. It is really such a one sided deal that I would pull the trigger even though you don't really need any more SP's. Your outfield is pretty weak though...see if you can dump Oswalt for a mid level outfielder.

I'd definitely do it. Cliff Lee has been lights out lately.
