so yesterday i made BLT's for dinner for myself, my wife and my mom...however, there were only 14 pieces of bacon, so that left someone getting that shaft on a 5th piece of bacon. it sure as hell wasnt going to be me, so first i thought about giving them each 4.5 pieces of bacon, but as i was deciding on how to evenly split the last piece of bacon i just decided to eat it myself and give them both 4
I'm not a fan of bacon at all, but once in a while I still get down with a BLT, actually, a BLAT (gotta have some avocado). In fact, I made some up for lunch this week, which I wouldn't have done, but my tomatoes were finally ready to pick. You can make or break a BLT with the quality of tomato, and tomatoes, moreso than just about anything else, are way better out of the garden than store-bought. Anyway, whole wheat bread, a liberal amount of cream cheese, thick-cut, peppered bacon, fresh tomatoes, crisp lettuce, and a good avocado and you've got yourself a serious sandwich.
Also, Dan, that's a perfectly reasonable solution to your problem, I probably would have done the same thing.
Miracle Whip? That's a good way to ruin a perfectly good sammich. I'd rather eat a sammich, or anything else, bone dry than have a drop of that nasty stuff on there.
I'm not really a fan of BLT's myself, more or less because I always feel like something is missing in that sandwich. I might as well make myself a chicken club sandwich while I'm at it.
On a side note, anyone ever tried curing their own bacon? That's the ticket right there.
