Over the past 7 games including today his stat line looks like this: 13/27, 7 R, 5 HR, 12 RBI, 1 SB, 7 K
I don't know much about the kid, but there were reports a week or so ago when he started heating up a bit that with regular PT he could turn into something worth keeping an eye on. 5 homers in 7 games doesn't sound like too bad of a play option, but what is his value sitting at right now with the rest of yall? Is this more of a fluke or something we could consistently see out of Will?
i just picked him up last night for tonights game and going forward. one of the things im wondering about is playing time. is he the full time starter in CF? i think the power is for real. this season in 53 games at AAA he had 12 HR before coming up to SD. http://www.thebaseballcube.com/Players/ ... able.shtml i would think he is going to produce better hitting in the 2 spot infront of Gonzalez than later in the lineup.
Padre fan here 270 25 hr 10 sb potential, kinda a mini Nolan Reimold. Hes very streaky, ride him while hes hot, then dump him when he goes 2 straight 0'fers
The Padres are cycling 5 guys into 4 positions, and want to get plenty of AB's for Gwynn, Blanks, Venable, Kouz, and Headley, so in daily leagues I see him as a 5th OF if you can wait til the late game to see if he is in

I completely disagree with that potential. There is nothing that points to him hitting 25 hrs/season, at least not in that park. First of all he only has 48 HR in over 1800 minor league at bats. Second of all, since Petco opened only 3 Padres have hit 25 or more HRs in a season, Gonzalez, Greene and Nevin. Both Greene and Nevin only did it one time and Nevin had previously hit over 40 one season. I say his ceiling is more like .275/12/10 and this makes him non-draftable in almost any format. I agree with the above poster that this is a total mirage.
