My Hamels, Bay, Wood for his Edwin Jackson, Krod, Kemp

Postby ivanhack » Wed Aug 05, 2009 10:52 am

I'm in a head to head points league and I've locked up a playoff spot.

I've received an offer of My Cole Hamels, Jason Bay, Kerry Wood for his Edwin Jackson, Francisco Rodriguez, Matt Kemp.

My lineup and league scoring is listed below. It hurts to trade Hamels and Bay, but this offer might be too good to pass up. Bay is slumping and Hamels has been inconsistent. However Edwin Jackson might be going downhill and Krod is not getting too many save opportunities now with the depleted Mets lineup.

What do you guys think? WHIR.....

I'd do this trade. I actualy have all 3 guys that you're trading on my team as well. Bay is slumping like none other. Hamels, where is he? Wood doesn't EVER get save opportunites, it seems like. To me, it looks like an upgrade at all 3 positions. Pull the trigger.

Help out:

Getting Kemp makes this deal worth it especially since you will still have Beckett and Lackey to lead your rotation.

i agree id do this deal, and i think you win by a big margin... Kemp is WAY over Bay, Jackson and Hamels are pretty equal with EJax getting the edge with better stats, and Krod trumps Wood everyday of the week... great deal for you and an upgrade at 3 positions at this time...

help me out...

Yes. While I expect Bay is going to bounce back a little bit, Kemp and Jackson are two of the better young players in the game. I actually like Kemp a lot.

Thanks for the help with mine.

I would argue that by doing this trade you are getting the best player at their respective positions. Something is off with COle this year and Jackson has been a horse (I think stats this later in the season carry a lot of weight). K-rod definitely better than Wood. Finally, Kemp helps everywhere and ranks higher than Bay IMO.

thanks for helping me.

i would certainly accept this offer. bay has a bad hammy, and kemp has been on fire all year. i'd much rather have edwin jackson than hamels, and krod over wood is a triple improvement. do it!

Yeah, I would definitely make this trade. Kemp has less issues going forward with his health and K Rod is a clear upgrade over Wood. Hamels has been worse than Edwin thus far but I could see them having comparable runs down the stretch.
