Both players have the raw talents to be solid MLB outfielders but both have some attitude problems and have been bounced around in the last couple seasons. Each have no been called up from AAA and theyre both being given playing-time to show what they can do. Milledge has been slotted in the 2hole where he has done decent thus far and Dukes has been batting 6th where he has done ok since his recent call up. I remember Dukes putting up awesome Roto-stats around this time of the season last year and I cant help but think hes gonna begin to do the same. Ive never been high on Milledge but scouts seem to see the tools there. I wanted to see how the Cafe projects these 2 young and talented delinquents for the duration of the 2009 season, as they could provide a boost to teams making a playoff push or be big factors in a playoff run. Opinions welcomed!

I do think Milledge has more overall talent and produces better. But for steals, Dukes probably gets one or two more than Lastings, who has speed but has proven to not be a good base stealer.
But there is also the playing time issue.
Milledge will get a full time gig, the Pirates see upside and want to give him a shot. The Pirates even put out a statement about him being a model citizen so far. They really want him to succeed.
Dukes was sent down mostly because the Nats soured on him. I'm pretty sure they were shopping him. That teams management has proven to be so scatter brained in their approach, I wouldn't be surprised if they change their minds again. Plus they still have other options that need ABs in the OF.
So Milledge gets more playing time, and Ithink he has better overall talent.
Both have enough upside to be rosterable in deep leagues. In standard mixed leagues I probably take a flyer on Milledge for all of the above.
There are a few things with the New York Yankees that never change. That's pride, tradition, and most of all, we have the greatest fans in the world. -Derek Jeter, 9/21/08 -- last words from old Yankee Stadium
OF Elijah Dukes returned Saturday after a month at Class AAA Syracuse and will get the bulk of the playing time in right field the rest of the season. The Nationals want to get a better idea whether Dukes, who in 138 games the last two seasons has combined for 19 homers and 74 RBI, is a viable long-term answer. "It's time for Elijah to take that next step in his career," interim manager Jim Riggleman said. "I think everyone knows he's got the physical tools to do it."
With that said, I think Dukes will get the chance to prove himself. Even though Milledge is slotted comfortably in the 2-hole, i just dont see all his 'talent'. He has never shown me much to get excited about... I dunno, Milledge just doesnt do it for me, im gonna take the gamble on Dukes!
