Would you take a flier on Matusz?

Postby Ravens Black » Tue Aug 04, 2009 11:06 am

I know this is his first start but the guy has been down right impressive and the O's are starting him today. Something like 7-0 with a sub 2.00 era in Bowie.

Any thoughts?

Also i post on here periodically and was curious as to what WHIR 100% means?

WHIR - Will Help in Return. You help me and I will help your or I help you and then you help me, is a good way to get questions answered.

Totally depends on a lot of factors. In a 10 team I wouldn't pick him up unless you are just desperate for SP. In a 12 team I might take a look at it. Deep keeper yes, but then in those leagues he is probably already gone. Shallow keeper, only if you have a roster spot for him. Burn a #1 WW spot on him, no probably something better later on.

Pretty much if you have a roster spot for him you might as well because like you said he has been pretty unstoppable so far.

Well Matusz answered all my questions last night. He had amazing poise and control of his pitches. Breaking pitches were nasty. Leyland even loaded the lineup with all right handed bats to try and screw over the southpaw. I know im picking him up.

MaudDib. thank you for answering my WHIR question and I'm not in that deep of a league but have done the ones im in for a while and have 2 leagues that are keepers. Im not going to keep him just yet but def going to get a few starts out of him this year.
