Trying to unload Howard or Votto??? WHIR!!!

Hey all.....in a 12 Team Standard Yahoo H2H league (10CAT 5X5)

I have R.Howard as my 1B and also have J.Votto as my Util position.

Someone in my league is interested in Howard but I think he would take Votto just as well. I noticed he has K.Morales at 1B and am stunned that he wants one of my 1B considering that Morales is lights out this season!!!

I am wondering what kind of offer could I come up with to improve my team a bit so that I don't get hosed. Please let me hear your thought and as always I will help yours!

I was thinking of something like: My Votto/Inge (and/or Cruz....since he might head to the DL) for his Morales/Werth/SP

i really like that My Votto/Inge Cruz for his Morales/Werth/SP proposal. He should reject it but it can't hurt to ask.
DOnt be too hesitatn to trade howard in a h2h redraft league. His colds streaks can kill you u in h2h, BUT he is a traditional 2h player and can carry you to the championship. Howard obvioulsy has more value than votto.

So.....who would you deal? Howard or Votto? (who will be better the rest of the season? and since he prefered Howard should I roll with him to entice him to accept the trade more?)

Also, what do you mean that it's a bad offer? A bad trade for him or me? If you don't think he would accept then what would you try and offer?

I am really looking to get Werth and Morales from him and I know that he is interested in Howard (I may be able to swing Votto instead) so who else should I add with Howard(Votto) to get it done?

I'm looking for better OF's (Markakis has his streaks, Ellsbury has found his groove but doesn't hit alot of power, Lind is ok, Cruz is hurt, Inge has fallen off)

If he would take the deal with Votto, I would do that -- I say lead with the Votto/Inge/Cruz for his Morales/Werth/SP ... me may reject it, both because he wants Howard and because of Cruz's question mark. But it's a good starting point for negotiation, b'c you can fall back to Howard who you know he wants, and look like you're giving something up.

Howard definitely > Votto in a non-keeper roto league, tho his streaky Ks/avg do hurt a little. But I think even with Howard, you're getting a decent deal. I don't think to highly of Inge, and Cruz is strong and has potential but is still young.

Not sure which SP you'd be able to get -- doubt he'd do a Lester in the above deal, though maybe he likes Howard that much. I'd start there, and work down during the offers.

OK all.....so the guy came back and to no surprise he did his research and had a bad feeling about Inge and Cruz stating that both may be headed for the DL so.......

He did mention though that he needs a Catcher still and that the players on my team that he's interested in are Mauer, Lind, and Ellsbury!

So......is there a trade that you could come up with that would strengthen my team while giving the player(s) that he wants?

Also, I am sure that I could add Votto or Howard into the mix especially if I take his Morales!

if you really want werth and morales, offer him howard and lind or ellsbury for werth, morales and nathan. You could also use lester, but he can't afford to give him up.

Thanks for the reply.....that's my biggest question though.....Do I really need Werth/Morales? Would either or both of those guys improve my team in some way that's better than it is now?

Please help because I figure that everything this guy wants from me (Mauer-don't think so, Ellsbury, Lind, Votto or Howard, plus any throw ins) then I could pretty much land anyone on his team.
