on the other side of the token if he sucks it up and gets injured again you will do the same thing...

but i think i would keep him too much raw talent to just cut...

Cut him. I did in about the 6th or 7th week of the season and haven't looked back (yes, it is a keeper league).

Bruce either hits a home run or strikes out...usually 0'fers or 1-4's. I don't see him getting better, and if he does...not enough worth keeping. What else do you have on your roster? I'm sure you have enough talent to keep other guys. If you really want him next year it's not like people will be salivating at the opportunity to get him after he didn't live up to the hype this season.

Any other thoughts on Bruce from Reds fans or others that have him closely? Aside from the injury, what was the issue this year? His BABIP was absurdly low before the injury.

j-up didnt live up to the hype last season and got hurt at the end of the season last yr too... doesnt mean he cant/didnt reach his potential the following year aka this year.

bruce and j-up will both be first/second round fantasy picks in the next 2-3 years, obviously upton appears to be sooner rather than later. i compare the two bc theyre both young free swingers who are going to be 40 HR guys with .280ish avgs, while managing to swipe 10-20 bags. talents like theirs dont just go away bc of a less than stellar debut... i WISH i was in your keeper league!

I drafted him this year with an eye on keeping him for 2010.

I cut him shortly after the injury only due to having some solid keeper possibilities. With only 2 keepers per team, it wasn't hard to cut a guy that appears to be a younger version of Adam Dunn.
