My league is a 12 team rotisserie league, with 5X5 scoring. You can keep up to 10 players the next year. I am currently 4th-5th depending on the day. I could make up a lot of ground by improving in these categores (W, S, K, ERA, WHIP, HR, RBI). My roster looks like this right now - all players are starters;
C - Miguel Montero, AJ Pierzysnki 1B - Ryan Howard, Garret Jones (Carlos Delgado - DL) 2B - Casey McGehee, Maicer Izturis 3B - Mark Teahen, Mike Lowell SS - Derek Jeter, Michael Young OF - Carl Crawford, Curtis Granderson, Shane Victorino, Nick Swisher, Josh Willingham P - Roy Halladay, Roy Oswalt, AJ Burnett, Scott Richmond, Jorge De La Rosa, Brian Bannister, Clayton Richard, Mariano Rivera, Huston Street, Trevor Hoffman (Justin Duchscherer on DL)
With that information, I have been offered this deal;
His Vernon Wells, Mike Napoli, Josh Beckett, Carlos Zambrano, James Shields, 17th round, and 21st round next year.
For my Carl Crawford, 11th, and 13th picks next year (and whoever I drop - Bannister, Richard, + 1 More.)
If I do take the deal, any ideas on what pitcher and catcher I should drop/add to the deal?
11 and 13th picks? or 11th and 13th round? If you do it, I guess you drop Swisher/AJ/Bannister/Richard. Im not a big fan of turning one stud into 5 meh's, but you are getting some solid value in Beckett/Z/Shields. Napolis value drops again when Torii and Vlad get back. Could you take Wells and Napoli out of the deal, swap for a slightly better OF?
11th round and 13th round, meaning if I keep 10 players, it would be my first and third picks (likely around 130 overall and 150-160 overall. He had talked about including Nate McLouth in the deal, which would be better than Wells...some. I actually would need to drop/trade him 3 pitchers and a C.
you are getting a lot of quantity and not enough quality in return. you need to keep beckett in the deal but replace guys like zambrano, wells and napoli with a solid bat in return.
