Batting Help (General Tweaking)

Postby SauberF1 » Mon Aug 03, 2009 11:16 am

12 Team H2H, non-keeper with 10 stats (R, HR, RBI, SB, AVG, W, SV, K, ERA, WHIP)

I don't want to make any drastic moves at this point but it seems my powerhouse line up is in a bit of a slump (losing in R, HR, SB, and AVG - which I normally win). I recently picked up G. Beckham (mainly because of the SS egilibility). My question...is there some minor change here I can work with so I can ride out the slump Bay and Werth are in? I don't mind parting with P. Sandoval and C. Barmes if there is a better option out there for me. Suggestions?

Batters
C - J. Mauer (C)
1B - A. Pujols (1B)
2B - C. Figgins (2B, 3B)
3B - P. Sandoval (C, 1B, 3B)
SS - C. Barmes (2B, 3B, SS)
OF - J. Bay (OF)
OF - J. Werth (OF)
OF - C. Crawford (OF)
Util - A. Soriano (OF)
BN - G. Beckham (3B, SS)
DL - C. Beltran (OF)

Pitchers
SP - J. Lackey (SP)
SP - C. Lee (SP)
RP - J. P. Howell (RP)
RP - D. Aardsma (RP)
P - L. Nunez (RP)
P - E. Jackson (SP)
P - J. Weaver (SP)
BN - B. Bannister (SP)
BN - T. Hanson (SP)
BN - R. Nolasco (SP)
BN - C. Kershaw (SP)

I think that I would look to move Sandoval or Maur for a Stud 3B. If it is Maur you should be able to do even better than just the 3B. Perhaps a minor upgrade at another position. Then you have no problem sticking Sandoval in as your C. Sandoval is having a great year when you play him as a 3B. He is having an INCREDIBLE year if you play him as a Catcher. Look for someone that needs catcher help and target that team.

I agree......here is what I would do:

Move Sandy to C
Trade Mauer for a stud/Top 3B
move Beckham to SS
try trading Barmes/Soriano/Beltran/Werth/Bay for OF's that are hitting

Personally though I would keep Werth as he should turn things around again. I have never been a fan of Bay but maybe he starts hitting again but if you through Bay/Werth/Soriano in to a mix with the others then you should be able to land some top guys just based on name value!

Good Luck!

Been trying to get E. Longoria but the owner isn't budging.

What about getting a solid SS like T. Tulowitzki?
