add Nyjer and drop Pence?? whir!

Postby lyons595 » Mon Aug 03, 2009 11:03 am

Im in 2nd in my league and i'm looking to tinker with my line-up to increase my AVG. It looks like Beltran MIGHT be back by Sept 1, and he would be a huge boost of course. Should I wait and see, or grab a hot bat ho can help me win steals every week?

ESPN, h2h, 10 team, daily. Cats: avg, r, hr, rbi, sb; w, k, sv, era, whip.
Trade deadline is Aug. 14.

C Russell Martin
1B Ryan Howard
2B Chase Utley
3B Aramis Ramirez
SS Troy Tulowitzki
OF Nate McClouth
OF Hunter Pence
OF Nelson Cruz
UTIL Prince Fielder
DL Carlos Beltran

Not a big fan of McLouth and Pence this year. I must say your offense is very impressive but your OF is the weakest part. You could post FA OF on here who may be able to get you some AVG and SB. How many rosters spots do you have to play with?

ok im a moron....never looked at your title. honestly i may be a little apprehensive about dropping Pence, but it seems like you need a source of steals, so i would probably do it. if you have another bench spot for Nyjer, that would be great though. honestly though, mclouth is killing your average worse than pence.

I'm not that big of a fan of Pence, either. He was drafted as a 2nd OF, produced those numbers for a few months, and has fallen off in a big way recently. He's capable of going on a hot streak, but that Astros lineup is pretty hit or miss. If you're hesitating to drop him for a more productive bat because of his ADP, I wouldn't wait any longer. Make the move and pick up the hot hand.

Thanks for the help.

I just dropped Pence for Nyjer. Our league, being only 10 teams, is shallow, so I could concieveably grab him if Morgan cools off.
