If you must drop one, drop Lindstrom. It's a non-keeper league, so you're talking about 7 weeks basically, and if you drop Nunez, you know you're dropping someone with valid closer duty for AT LEAST a few weeks, possibly the remainder of the season. There is a chance, if Nunez blows a couple, that he'll lose the job, but he might not, and you'd be giving up a viable closer to someone else in the league (of course, depends how rare closers are in your league, how saves are valued, etc). I would drop Hochevar over either, however, especially if you want to make sure you don't lose a closer. He has a decent ceiling, but I wouldn't expect too much this season.

Until it gets figured out, I wouldn't hesitate in dropping Hochevar. He is on a SORRY team and his "W's" will be few and far between.

Thanks for the help on mine. ;-D

Hey, I found that quote from Yahoo sports (players notes):

RHP Matt Lindstrom returned from the disabled list Friday but he won't reclaim the closer role he'd had before he sprained his right elbow in June. Lindstrom could eventually pitch in the ninth inning again but for now he will be used in late-inning and set-up situations. On Sunday, he gave up a hit in a scoreless eighth inning, his first action since June 23.

(Yahoo! Sports)

Hope this helps but my gut is stick with Nunez unless he blows a game or 2 and then quickly grab Lindstrom back (which also has news stating:RHP Matt Lindstrom hit 97 mph on his fastball Sunday in his first game back from the disabled list (sprained elbow). He said he expects his velocity to increase as he sees more action.

Good Luck but a crazy decision for most I'm guessing!

I'd stick with Nunez. Lindstrom has been too erratic even when healthy. Nunez should be able to keep Lindstrom at bay. If you can, try to deal Lindstrom to someone who thinks he might regain the closer role.

haha this made me chuckle quite a bit, and Nunez hasn't?!?!?! i didn't think there was a closer in the game that could keep his job with an ERA higher then Lindy's 6.30 on the season, well folks there is in Nunez who over the last 7 has a 6.43 ERA... the only reason Lindstrom didn't step right back into the closer role is because he didn't have that many rehab stints to strengthen his arm back up, Nunez is best suited as a setup/long inning relief guy, thats why Florida got him in the first place... add to it the fact that Lindstrom has more history closing down games (set aside Nunez's 9 saves this year and he has none the whole rest of his career) and also that Lindstrom has a lower career ERA (look at Lindy's game log, his ERA spiked because of 2 piss poor outings against very good offensive teams 4ER against Tampa and 7ER against Philly) you take those 2 outings out and his ERA climbs WAY WAY down... Lindstrom i guarentee will be closing by the end of the week A. because Nunez has been struggling as of late B. the facts i just shed light apon and C. Lindstrom has the best stuff overall (97 MPH fastball and hes just warming his arm back up)... give it a couple games and then dump Nunez and start Lindstrom...

Great thanks to soto for the sweet sig!...
