I'm kind of surprised he's getting a chance before Arrieta, even though he might have better stuff. I'm still taking a chance on him with a spot start in my 20 team league, though. Pitching debuts really are hit or miss but I tend to believe that these situations favor the pitcher.

i picked up both Tillman and Matusz but in the end i couldnt justify hanging onto them when they are going to be facing the AL East on a regular basis, just wasnt worth the risk of damaging my ERA/WHIP

so far so good for Matusz, but definitly some control issues but that's to be expected.

Izturis made an awesome play to save a couple runs on a ball up the middle with the bases loaded and two outs. Things definitely could have been a lot uglier. But it looks like he's gonna pick up a win tonight. All things considered, not a bad debut at all.

Izturis has single handedly won this game for Baltimore tonight. Hell of a game.

very impressive debut for the youngster, i am not worried on the control jitters at all since its his first game and he has a great BB/K ratio from college and both A+/AA. Baltimore should be drooling over this kid.... ;-D

Drooling might be a little extreme at this point in his career :-b
Should be a solid middle of the rotation guy.
