Pitching for OFers, need some help. (WHIR)

12 Team ESPN 5x5 H2H league.I have a taker for Cliff Lee, who is going to pitch really well in the NL East, but my pitching has been strong and I could use the boost.

I've been offered Jayson Werth for Cliff Lee. I countered with Jarrod Washburn, but no dice. I think I can do a lot better than Werth for Cliff Lee... but who do you think I should counter with? This guy is in first place by a lot, but has struggled lately.

He also said he would do Washburn for Denard Span or Mike Cameron. Would you guys do any of these?

My team:

C Mike Napoli
1B Prince Fielder
2B Orlando Hudson
3B Chone Figgins
SS Hanley Ramirez
MI Elvis Andrus
CI Derrek Lee
OF Josh Hamilton
OF Manny Ramirez
OF Jason Kubel

UT Derrek Lee
BN Nick Swisher

P Cliff Lee
P AJ Burnett
P Wandy Rodriguez
P Randy Wells
P Andy Pettite
P Zach Duke
P Jarrod Washburn
P Joel Piniero
P Chris Tillman
P Kevin Gregg
P Leo Nunez

His Team:

1B Pujols
2B Uggla
3B Longoria
SS Scutaro
MI Furcal
CI Chipper
OF Werth
OF Cody Ross
OF Abreu
OF Mike Cameron
UT Raul Ibanez

sorry about gregg i feel your pain tho buddy, thanks for your help. i see you have some struggling outfielders on your team. let me ask you this tho, if you got werth who would he replace on your team? i really dont think he's that much better than what you have and in head to head leagues i value an ace like cliff lee lowering my era and whip in the playoffs. BUT i do think he is an upgrade over some of your outfielders. however, he's very streaky and has had fewer opportunities after ibanez came back and he was dropped to sixth in the lineup. might just be coincidence, but i'm a phillies fans and i've noticed ibanez getting more rbi opportunities than werth. that said i still like him more than mclouth and slightly ahead of kubel based on his steals. washburn for span is fair, but i don't think he upgrades any of your outfielders and is less valuable in a head to head league (week to week, he'll prolly only get a steal or two, maybe a home run, and a good avg) not as valuable as in roto IMO. and i don't like cameron that much. if you were to make a trade i'd package mclouth and washburn or lee for an upgrade in the outfield (maybe werth, depending on who you're trading with) and lesser starting pitcher. hope this makes sense/helps.

Would he be willing to do Ibanez for Lee, I think that would be a better trade for you. I'm not a huge fan of Werth and with Lee moving to a contender I think you could do better than getter such a streaky player

Your outfield has been struggling but they should come around. Lee is only going to get better! If I were you I'd wait a bit. Lee's value is going up and up, and I think your OFs will come around soon enough.

Good Luck

The majority of the time I always say position playters are worth more than SP, but in your case Id keep Lee. Werth doesn't ake you noticably better than you already are, and losing Lee does truly hurt your SP. Unless you can get Ibanez, dont do it.
