The next big call up?

Postby MaudDib » Sun Aug 02, 2009 8:21 pm

Brian Matusz was pulled from his Saturday start for Double-A Bowie after one inning, reports Roch Kubato of MASNSports.com
Kubato says he has been given a very strong indication that Matusz is coming up for a Tuesday debut against the Tigers. Counting Chris Tillman, that makes two major league debuts in the space of one week. Exciting times in Charm City.

A little earlier than I was expecting in my Dynasty league and I do question whether he is fully ready yet but I hope for the best and think he will become a solid top of the rotation guy in a year or two.

Surprised he got the call over fellow propsect Jake Arrieta at AAA. I guess arrieta's struggles at AAA (4.7 ERA) are the reason. Future looks very bright for the orioles. Solid rotation for the future in guthrie, tillman, matusz, arrieta and bergeson, to go along with a lineup of roberts, jones, markakis, reimold, wieters...i think the O's are a lot closer to contending than the Jays.

They should really consider renovating that stadium to turn it into more of a pitchers park... That right field porch is short for a highschool field.
