Am I paying too much for Halladay?

Postby Swagger » Sun Aug 02, 2009 8:11 pm

My Mauer and Pedroia for his Halladay and Orlando Hudson. I should stress that pitching has been next to impossible to trade for in this league (I asked a guy if he would do Mauer for Vazquez straight up and he said no).

I would end up putting Cabrera at SS, Zobrist at 2B and Posada at C

This is a standard cbs H2H points league

Here is my roster

C - Mauer
1B - Votto
2B - Pedroia
3B - Zimmerman
SS - Zobrist
OF - DeRosa
OF - Carlos Lee
OF - A. Soriano
U - J. Dye

SP - De La Rosa
SP - Lester
SP - Happ
SP - J. Santana
SP - Romero

RP - Hoffman
RP - Soria

Bench

Beltran
Posada
Sandoval
J. Peavy
Cabrera
C-McCann
1B- P.Fielder
2B-Cano
3B-Longoria
SS-Hanley
OF-Crawford - Kemp - Upton
U- C. Beltran(OF)
SP-Kershaw, Halladay, Lester, T.Hunter, Liriano
RP-Papelbon - Rivera
Bench-Webb, Carmona, Vargas, L.Scott, Andrus

I wouldn't do it. I think Mauer straight up for Halladay is enough but losing Pedroia too is just too much for my liking.

please help

With Sandoval on the bench you can afford to give up Mauer but you are definitely overpaying.

In a one year league on August 2nd, you're not trading for fairness, you're trading for need. The loss from Mauer to Posada is not even close to as big as the gain from Romero to Halladay. I do this deal as long as you really need the pitching.
