Drop Johnson for Frasor? WHIR

Postby soty » Sun Aug 02, 2009 9:55 am

Hey guys I dont have much for closers right now. All I have is Broxton, Johnson, Okajima, Gonzalez, Lindstrom and Bard as my RPs. Its a holds league which is why I have the other guys. Anyways I just picked up Johnson the other day when Sherrill got dealt but then comes the news that Downs is out again with the same toe that sent him to DL earlier. Does this mean Frasor is the guy there and is worth dropping Johnson for him? Or should I drop someone else for Frasor?

I think you do this. Johnson's role as the Oriole closer is basically an audition. He hasn't pitched all that well this season, the Orioles won't provide him with that many opps, and Baez has better stuff than he does. Frasor held his own while he was in the role earlier in the year, and I imagine Downs will be out beyond the minimum 15 days. He'll likely want extra time to heal for good.

Thanks for your input on my Wandy/Bell keeper issue.

I think you do this as well. Frasor will give you more opps than Johnson and better peripheral numbers. I would do it.

please help

id dump Johnson for Frasor, as i didn't think Ray would be back up this soon, i mean hes already back in the O's bullpen and not looking too bad at all... i don't think it will be long for Johnson, like someone else said i think its more of an audition for Johnson and once Ray is ready he will be in the role... Frasor looks like the better pick at this point and time...

Thanks for the help guys. The news came out that Downs is headed back to the DL so I made the move. Frasor's numbers are much better too. Hopefully Frasor will 'the' guy. ;-D
