10 team roto league. We keep our best three players. Currently in 2nd place overall and my worst three categories are batting avg, runs, and stolen bases. With that in mind should I make this trade? I hate to trade Phillips, but Roberts would give me a boost in batting avg, runs and to a lesser extent steals.
It's an interesting trade...Although roberts will get you more runs and really dont think there is that big of a difference between AVG....with one little streak phillips will be up to 280..He is currently at 270...but any player can go cold or hot..
i would prob look into trading for Mourneu and include Gonzo...
You can possibly maybe deal gonzo and Martin for Mourneu, put pablo at C, chipper back at 3rd and have rivera at util and have an open spot to pick up a player..
If not martin, maybe one of your closers(nunez or johnson)

Good points and suggestions. I actually tried for Morneau, but the other owner won't trade him. Another thought is to target Victorino. Who on my team would be a fair offer for Victorino?
people has raised red flags when I have mentioned milledge..He is really interesting to me..With only two months left, I think he can get really hot and get you the sb's and maybe avg, but in that lineup not a lot of runs..
I was just looking at numbers, and the person that matches up well with victorino is Choo..He has 15 sb's to shanes 17...and has a little less avg but still almost at 300...and makes up the difference in runs, avg, in homers and rbi

P.S. How bad are you in those three categories?
Choo for Victorino is interesting. They do match up well, but I feel like Choos is the better overall contributor. Also feel like the only category I'd be gaining in runs. I'd be losing or breaking even in all the others.
I'm dead last in batting avg (.264), but I think I can move up 3 - 4 spots. The batting avg for the team getting 8 points is .275 for context.
I think I can move up at least 3 points in steals because there is only a 16 steal gap between me and the teams in front of me.
Runs ios pretty tight. I have 701 and teams in front of me have - 714, 725, 729, 735, 737, 746, and 749
In a keeper league I wouldn't consider it since phillips is a better keeper option. If you are looking to win now its not to bad an idea but I would explore other areas beofre trading phillips.
Maybe try to move Siezmore for a big name if someone is willing to bit ... his value is low now but still has name value to some people. A Gonzo is great but streaky and hits in petco park ... this all depends on if it is a keeper league and what offers you could get for their names.
