And I wasn't saying that the Sox pitching was horrible, only that I prefer the Yanks'. I do think they are close but I also have a feeling one of them will miss the playoffs.

I hope so, I have money on TB.

Believe in the adjusted standings!

Here's why the Sox need a pitcher: their August schedule
2 @ TB
4@ NYY
4 vs. DET
3 @ TEX (that'll help a pitching staff)
3 @ TOR
3 vs. NYY
4 vs. CWS
3 vs. TOR
Yanks schedule:
2@TOR
4 vs. BOS
3 vs. TOR
7-game west-coast swing (4@SEA, 3@OAK)
3@BOS (with an off-day before AND after, important to note)
3 vs. TEX
3 vs. CWS
While the disparity doesn't look that great, note that the Yanks go out west for 7 road games against mediocre competition. The Red Sox have road series at TB and TEX.
