NL/AL only league question

Postby MishawakaMadMan » Fri Jul 31, 2009 4:55 pm

For those in leagues that are NL-only or AL-only: Do any of these leagues allow owners to continue collecting stats from players who have been traded to the 'other' league?

Yahoo used to let you continue to accumulate stats for players traded to the other league (as long as they continued to be on your roster), but they changed it 2-3 years ago. Now you're SOL.

cbssportsline.com has the ability to let players trade out of league continue to get stats.

My league is a keeper, and our rules state that once you own a player, if he is traded, you are allowed to keep him for the remainder of that season. You can't keep him next year, unless he pulls a LaRoche and is traded back to the NL.

If you have a player who left the league, and you drop him, no one else can pick him up. But you can trade him.

That's interesting, Neo. Personally, I prefer not gaining any future stats after a player leaves the league.

There are leagues that allow you to keep stats for the remainder of that season. I'm not a real big fan of that. In our NL only league if a player is traded to the AL you lose them but get first rights to the players coming back to the NL. Can be good and bad, but it seems to work quite well for us.

I could see it being nice if someone owned Brett Wallace... :-°

Our AL only league allows us to continue keeping stats for the remainder of the year. Once the year is over, the player must be dropped, unless he comes back to the AL during the offseason. We figure why penalize an owner for something totally out of his control.
