Braves Acquire Adam LaRoche
By Tim Dierkes [July 31 at 2:16pm CST]

2:16pm: LaRoche has been traded to the Braves, according to Yahoo's Gordon Edes.

1:59pm: First baseman Adam LaRoche becomes expendable for Boston if they complete the Victor Martinez trade; Jon Heyman of SI tells us via Twitter that the Braves are interested. LaRoche came up with the Braves; they traded him to Pittsburgh for Mike Gonzalez and Brent Lillibridge in '07.

Doesn't seem to make any sense for the Braves.

is this official? what are they going to do about 1b after this year in that case? i thought the point of tex's destination last year was to get a cost controlled young mlb ready 1b. :-S

haha exactly, with the addition of VMart the have MORE then enough C/1B/3B options more so you have Papi, Vmart, Youk, Lowell, Varitek and LaRoche batting for C/1B/3B/DH you take one away and its a much easier and less complicated rotating of players, so why add Kotchman to that madness??

Yea, I cant get this confirmed anywhere besides on MLBTR so this might not be offcial yet
