Fresh Meat, 2nd year but I drafted out of a Magazine

This is my 2nd year in the league and I won last year, mainly through luck. I went into the draft with a magazine and a prayer, how did I do?

This is a head to head league with standard scoring.

I forgot to add it's a 12 man league and I had the 2nd pick in the draft

Just kidding! I think your team has some good players but there is a ton of questionable guys on your roster (although you may be in a big league).

You might consider Pujols at first and seeing if you can find some decent bats for the OF, which should be deeper than 1b in your FA pool. Edmonds, Gonzales and Sanders isn't the worst starting outfield possible, but you have to be ready for one or two of those guys to go down during the season. I don't think I would want Seo or David Wells on my squad if there was anything of value left out there. Obviously SS is going to be a little weak also, but without trading I don't know how much better you will do with a FA. Maybe look to move some of those questionable arms (J Thompson, Armas, etc) for another closer, Riske isn't set yet.

Your infield is pretty good other than SS if you use Pujols, but I think you are still a few players away from greatness.

Thanks for the reply, Fantasy Steve. I took Wells Seo and Riske after the 18th round so I really wasn't worried about what happens with them.

There was a large run on SS early in the draft so instead of jumping on board I just decided that I will be weak in that position.

I know my outfield has numersous ? marks, so I tried to compensate by drafting quality pitchers. I won last year in this league but that was mostly a fluke.

I'll see if I can work out a trade for a SS and maybe some outfield help.

I know some of my hitters are weak, but i at least feel confindent about my pitching. What areas do I most need to work on?

Hitting could use more speed, pitching could use another closer.
