ESPN.com wrote:Now that the Indians have traded Cliff Lee, rival executives fully expect Cleveland to deal All-Star catcher Victor Martinez in the 48 hours before the trade deadline.
"I don't think they'd move one without thinking about moving the other," said an AL official.
...
The Boston Red Sox have had extensive talks with the Indians about Martinez, and even after acquiring Adam LaRoche from the Pittsburgh Pirates last week, they still have interest -- although it is not exactly clear how the Red Sox would squeeze in playing time for all the players who would be affected by a trade for Martinez, most notably third baseman Mike Lowell.
The Texas Rangers and Detroit Tigers have also been talking with other teams about acquiring a hitter.

any of those 3 teams would be nice. sox have the prospects to make it happen. not sure about the other two. vmart in arlington is intriguing. also vmart and mcab back to back would be pretty slick as well.
thanks to madison/go_jays_go for the slick sig!

Can't wait to see him get traded to a better lineup.
Here's the pitch on the way, a swing and a belt! Left field! Way back! BLUE JAYS WIN!

Texas has arguably the top farm system in baseball right now. They have plenty to deal. Of course, why they'd spend on another bat rather than an impact arm is beyond me...

Especially a C/1b bat (Salty, Max Ramirez, Smoak, Davis, Blalock). The Rangers will not trade for him, I'm confident of that much.
