Well it's not like they parted with any major prospects, and they were essentially desperate to get rid of Jeff Clement. I think they did pretty well.

I had been excited thinking Clement was headed somewhere where he could play C on the MLB level or at least get steady PT. Now he's blocked by Doumit, Pearce, and Jones.

Not necessarily. Garrett Jones could play left field and Clement could get time at first.

From what I've seen Jones is kind of a circus act in the OF. I think once the Pearce experiment is over....again....that Jones will move to 1B where he should be, and Milledge will go to the OF.

Who knows, maybe Clement will be part of a later deal too.

Woudln't surprise me to see them move Doumit? Neil Huntington isn't against "shaking" things up. As we have seen. (McLouth/Morgan/LaRoche/Snell) I still think they make Clement a 1B, Pearce hasn't shown anything since his recall. Also wasn't dominating AAA either. Sure Jones is on fire now, but I doubt its going to last. He will ride out the season, but probably wont start next year. So he will fill his role that being a bench player. SOLID one at that.
