#1 Waiver wire dillema WHIR

Postby The Jesus » Mon Jul 27, 2009 5:52 pm

I've held onto the top waiver wire spot for most of the season in anticipation of Strasburg's arrival. I just noticed that Tillman is getting the call to pitch on Wednesday.

Do I continue to hold out on Stras, or do I take a shot with Tillman?

Well first off I don't see Strasburg playing this year. He probably won't sign until the deadline and then I don't see Washington wanting to rush him like that. But I also am not sure that Tillman will be a guy worth owning unless this is a very deep keeper league and even then I would have my reservations. So I would probably wait until Sept. and see who else gets called up.

If you were holding out for Stras, I don't see why you shouldn't take a chance on Tillman. You'll definitely be able to use his services much soon that you would if you wait for Stras. That being said, I'd rather use my #1 waiver on a bat rather than a pitcher.

Is this a dynasty league? Or just for this year? I also don't see Strasburg playing in the Majors this year; I could see holding back in a dynasty league if you can't win this year. If you can win this year (or if it is a non-keeper), go with Tillman.

I'd keep your #1 waiver spot for a little later in the season. I'm sure there will some moves made by a desperate manager in due time.

Lil help?
