Trade possibilities.... WHIR

Postby Eightan » Mon Jul 27, 2009 2:21 pm

I'm 2nd in my league right now but am way behind in runs annd could use some help in SB as well. I'm negotiating with another manager to get Victorino and Blanton. He says he'll take any 2 of the following 4 guys: Pena, D-Lee, Ludwick or Konerko. I see all 4 of these guys as similar types of players, with Pena hitting for most power, but also striking out most and hitting for by far the lowest average, so I'll probably trade him. However, I'm not certain which other player I should include out of the other 3... but I'm leaning towards Konerko. What do you guys think? Or should I not make the trade altogether?

I would probably not make that trade...I don't think you would be getting enough in return.

If you do make it, I would keep konerko and Ludwick. I have Ludwick in two leagues and have been getting an increasing number of offers, which I have turned down because I think he is going to have a huge rest of the year.

As for Konerko, I see people bashing him all the time, but he has been solid all year, including hitting for BA, and is showing no signs of slowing down.

Thanks for help on mine.

Thanks for the help on mine. I think that I would offer him back Pena for Victorino straight up. Like the other poster said, Konerko has been solid this season, and hasn't been getting the respect he deserves. Lee seems to have found his power stroke and Ludwick is on tap for a BIG second half IMO. That leaves Pena as your odd man out. I'm not a fan of Blanton, and think that you'd be downgrading your team to get him because you'd have to trade either Konerko or Lee, and I wouldn't do that deal. I'd say if he doesn't want to just do Victorino for Pena, you walk away.
