there was another thread of mine that turned into a topic of me replacing Uggla. I seem to have 2 possible options finally laid out with 2 different owners. just wanted to get opinions...
1st: i give Quentin, i get Phillips. i like this one since Phillips would add some consistent SB for me, plus hes not too bad on power stuff. the friend that i would do this with would then get either Pedroia or Cano from the guy that has both of them.
2nd: the guy with Cano/Pedroia sent me an email this morning saying he would take Bell or Papelbon for Pedroia, he is sick of having both of them and having to decide who to play and just wants something he can use in return. this sounds great at first, but Pedroia really hasnt been all that great this year, and I dont really want to step in and cut off my friend that had something kind of lined up with him first.
I don't see Quentin in your current roster. However, if you still have an OF of Manny, Kemp, and Ichiro after trading Quentin, I'd do that trade ahead of giving up one of your stud closers. Especially with Pena at UTIL and Konerko very hot.
You sure you want to drop Wieters if you're in a keeper league? Sandoval will lose his catcher eligibility and you'll be losing a great prospect if you drop him...
I agree with the Phillips.Quentin trade as trading one of either Papelbon or Bell would hurt your closing staff since Wood has been awful and Bailey could easily lose his job.

should have posted that we only keep 3, so there is no way i would be keeping him anyway....
well, my friend with Phillips is pulling his usual BS.... he says it sounds good, just needs to think about it. then the offer sits there and he never makes a decision. he is like this with everyone that tries to deal with him.
so that being the case, if it looks like he isnt going to do it after all, should i go for pedroia? i have read a few rumors lately that Heath Bell may be traded(real life). depending on where he goes may or may not close. i have read the Yankees were interested in him, he wouldnt close there for sure. now might be the right time to get rid of him if he does in fact get traded(real life).
thoughts on that? plus JP Howel is still in the pool. i could grab him for extra saves here and there.
I doubt Bell gets traded but I woudl shoot for Cano, both have similar averages but Can has 14hrs to Peds 4, but Peds does has a speed advantage (which you don't really need), and Cano may be easier to grab than Peds with Bell
Considering the phillips owner is taking his sweet time, make the bell for pedroia swap and consider it your lucky day. you are getting an elite 2b for a mid level closer that gets few chances to save games.
then pick up jp howell for either wieters(you won't keep him) or uggla(won't play after acquiring pedroia.)
edited after I saw your follow up on the phillips owner.
