Do I deal Hamilton?

Postby wkpdpack » Sat Jul 25, 2009 6:55 pm

12 team keeper league, 5x5 roto scoring, keep 7 from year to year with no limitations. I'm currently in 4th, one spot out of the money (by 12 pts.) Trade deadline is looming July 31st. Do I deal Hamilton or will he kick it into gear in the 2nd half. And, if I deal, what (or who) should I try and get in return.

Just deal Billingsley for W. Rodriguez, Jurrjens, Molina and Ianetta to upgrade Salty and Navarro.

Was offered Adam Jones and Sandoval for Braun and Stewart. No way I do that deal. But I could offer Hamilton for Ad. Jones and Sandoval letting Sandoval replace Iannetta. (Doubt he does it though) What other moves should I consider making?

C Molina, Iannetta
1B Howard
2B Roberts
3B ARAm
SS Drew
MI Uggla
CI Morneau
OF Braun, Kemp, Hamilton, Granderson, Stewart
U Blalock
P Baker, Bell, Greinke, Jurrjens, C. Lee, Millwood, W. Rodriguez, KRod, Scherzer
Bench: F. Francisco, Kuroda, Ad. LaRoche, Marquis

I'll be placing F. Francisco on the DL and picking up another player (Piniero, Niemann, Cust, G. Anderson, E. Aybar, etc) I'm leaning towards Piniero or Niemann since non of the bats are extraordinary. Then, when I activate Francisco, I'll drop Ad. LaRoche who won't have as much value now that he's in Boston playing part-time.

Tough call really. What catagories offer the most potential for advancement?

I would make a move targeting where ever it is that you stand to gain the most.

Thanks for looking at mine ;-D

(Sorry about being so ambiguous, but at this stage you really need to focus on where you an make the most with the least :-B

I would not have a problem dealing Hamilton and while I think Sandoval is a stud, I would not take Adam Jones. What I might do is see if you can get someone with a high BA, which along with Sandoval, may allow you to pick up a lot of ground in that category. Also, in no way would I trade Braun.

Thanks for help on mine.

It's difficult to sell Hamilton at the moment and Adam Jones' power pace has just about normalized. Hanging on to Hamilton for perhaps a good 1-2 months of production would be the route to take. So, essentially, I'd rather have Hammy/Iannetta over Ad. Jones/Sandoval for the long haul.
