I'm in a 10 team NL only 5 x 5 league. I am third in line on the waivers, but the two teams in front of me haven't made a roster move in 2 months and are at the bottom of the league. So, effectively, I have the number 1 waiver spot. My hitting is top notch, but my pitching stinks. I really want Halliday, but am afraid to risk it if he isn't traded to PHilly or another NL team. I think I should take the sure thing and get Holliday and try to trade excess hitting for starter. Anybody have any confidence on Halladay being traded to the NL? The waiver deadline for Holliday is Sunday, so I have to decide soon. Any help would be appreciated....
are you saying both holliday and halladay are on waivers??????????????? if so, get halladay. whether he is traded or not doesn't matter... he's the best pitcher in baseball. if you're trying to trade to get halladay, then yes, pick up holliday to help you get the deal done. good luck!
oh, i just reread your post and realized that it's a NL league only. wow, that's hard. i'd say get holliday. i'm not sure halladay will be traded. if so, i think the dodgers will get him. (as a braves fan, i'm praying it's the dodgers and not the phillies.) can you claim him while he's still in the AL? if so, then take a chance on him.
Yep, NL only league. Can't pick up any AL players until traded. So, Holliday is on waivers until tomorrow morning. A hitter like Holliday does very little for me as I am in 2nd place in just about every offensive category. I'm thinking I'll get Holliday and trade him or someone else for top of line starter.
I would grab Holliday. Despite the rumors, I feel like, if Halladay is traded, he'll go to the Angels.
I think Brandon Wood and a pitcher will be part of the package, and the Angels will be willing to take on Scott Rolen's contract as well to get the job done, turning Figgins ino a Utility player.
Yes, if both are in the NL, Halladay, but....as a note, if Halladay trade to the NL before the Waiver Claim goes through, take back the Waiver Claim on Holliday.
