right i understand that but dont you think if he has some success or even if he doesnt, his trade value will be higher this winter?

This is my take, too. This has to be the single worst time in his career to sell Kazmir.

I guess it could get even worse if his injuries continue to mount, so moving him now could be a hedge. But all he needs to do is go on a hot streak over a few weeks, and his value will jump right back up. Of course, maybe Cleveland doesn't care either way and is willing to give "normal" value for Kazmir. In that case, there's no reason not to move him.

There's a rumored three-team deal that has been in the works for the past two or three days. The deal would send Cliff Lee to the Rays, Wade Davis and Brandon Morrow to the Indians, and Reid Brignac to the Mariners. There is also the potential that the deal could be expanded with Victor Martinez also going to Tampa with Clement being sent to Tampa and/or Seattle taking on Kazmir to clear salary for Tampa. Interesting stuff.

That's a lot of smart people trading with each other. Too bad they couldn't get Washington or KC involved and maybe steal Zimmerman or Greinke.
