I think they perform a bit worse, but that doesn't necessarily mean they're worth less. In h2h, it's all about relative performance -- your pitchers may not be doing as well, but neither are his, so there's no change. In roto, maybe they lose a little value, but you still need to rack up the counting stats. I think it's a good strategy to get ahead in innings/starts in the first half, if possible. But it's not possible for everyone in a league to do that (without using marginal pitchers), so in terms of overall (read, league-average) value, I imagine pitchers stay roughly constant.
Is this branching off the Mass thing?
